We truly appreciate your support. Watch our video to hear directly from Mr. Resseguie what your support means to Staley Choirs.
It’s been 15 years since Staley High School opened its doors. The Staley Choir program is woven into the very fabric of the school. The alma mater greets us as we walk in and represents the best of who we are and what we aspire to be
“Staley, secure for all; Staley, embracing all.”
As we embark on this landmark year, it is also the final year for our beloved Choir Director, Mr. Resseguie, as he plans his retirement. We have a spectacular year ahead.
As we do every year, we are asking friends, family, and our Staley Community to come together and support our students and choirs. Your donations help us maintain the exceptional program we’ve spent 15 years building.
Your donation will help pay for our Holiday Concert and Emerald City. Our Holiday Concert features a special orchestra of professional musicians playing alongside our students, we take time to honor and recognize our seniors, and is a special event for everyone.
Emerald City showcases our choirs and upperclassmen as they perform solo’s, specials, and each choir performs some of their favorite songs across multiple genre’s. It’s a grand way to end our year.
Additionally, this is our 4th appearance at Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA). It is a special honor to be selected to perform for the best educators in our state.
Finally, some of our students will be taking one last choir tour under the direction of Mr. Resseguie. Dr. Tony Silvestri and Dr. Dan Forrest, who wrote our school song have composed a special piece titled “Let Me Listen.” This shows our dedication to walking alongside people whose experiences have been different from our own, hearing their stories–and believing them.
Throughout this school year, community leaders will be invited into the classroom to educate Staley Choir students on Civil Rights History and the present day Black experience in America. This tour will provide insights into the long, dark shadow of racism in the United States. Further, the tour will offer the healing power of music through choral concerts. In the long term, as we listen to these experiences, and sing the music, it will help us internalize the messages and take those lessons and experiences into our own lives and spread them into our communities.
Your donation will help support all of this and more. You can allocate your donation directly to a student attending the Let Me Listen Tour by entering their name into the online payment portal.
Thank you for your continued support of Staley Choirs. We are better together.
