Tuttle received his Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied under Lyric Theatre faculty members Michael Tilley, Sarah Wigley, Dawn Harris, and Julie and Nathan Gunn. Through his education, he also had the opportunities to play in concerts and masterclasses with performers such as Allen Vizzutti, Michelle DeYoung, and Julian Ovenden. While at home in a variety of styles, Tuttle has demonstrated a deep understanding of the musical theatre genre. He has performed with theatre companies all over central Illinois, including The Little Theatre on the Square, Lyric Theatre @ Illinois, and Central Illinois Stage Company. Additionally, Tuttle’s other musical avenues include collegiate choirs, jazz bands, and cover bands. Ty currently holds positions at Staley High School and Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church and remains active in the Kansas City theatre realm.
